You are briefed by the park guides/rangers after you begin the search for these delightful primates. The terrain is relatively steep and slippery and thus strenuous to trek.
Apart from chimpanzees, Nyungwe Forest is a habitat to a range of other primates that you stand a good chance of seeing including; the endangered golden monkey, l’Hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, Angola monkeys, silver monkey, golden monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys.
You also have a great birding opportunity. The forest is habitat to about 300 bird species.
After a thrilling experience in Nyungwe Forest, you retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
